The Roman Catholic Inquisition: “The Mass Murder of Untold Millions.” JOAN WASTE (1534-56) Born Blind had a twin brother named Roger. Came from a poor family. Her father was a barber and also a rope maker At the age of twelve she learned to knit and make ropes and garment apparel. She heard a Preacher one day and became Overwhelmed by the Gospel Message. She eventually saved up enough money to buy a New Testament. She had a faithful companion John Hurt who daily obliged with Joy to Read it to Her. At times when he was not available she would pay a penny to someone else to read God’s Blessed WORD to her. She soon was able to memorize Chapters of the Bible and became very Knowledgeable in False Theology and Rome’s Heretical Teachings. She was asked to Recant her Faith and Submit to Papal Authority. She Refused and was Condemned by the Catholic Clergy. Before being escorted to her Death. She was taken to the Catholic Parish to listen to her Condemning Sermon. The Church was packed. She was made to stand in front of the pulpit and hear Catholic Chancellor “Anthony Draycot” deliver her Sermon. He stated: You are Blind Physically, but You are also Blind in your Soul which now will be Burned in Everlasting Torment. While being led to her Death by Burning at the Stake, her twin brother Roger was allowed to hold her hand, while walking to her Fate. She was only 22 years old. Poor Blind Innocent Soul burned in Derby August. 1/1556 There’s a Plaque dedicated to her on Line Avenue by the Derby Civic Society.
