Understanding Our Inward Processes (According to the Bible)

Dr. John M. Asquith 4 min read 9/18/23

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off, Psalm 139:2.

Nathaniel's first words to Jesus Christ upon hearing him were, Whence knowest thou me?, John 1:48. He had just walked up to a man who his friend suspected was the long awaited Messiah and that man showed him that he could read Nathaniel's inward parts; Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!, John 1:47.
To know those two things about Nathaniel, Jesus Christ would have needed to judge his inward processes by two different passages.

Psalm 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
Romans 9:7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Romans 9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Jesus Christ knew that there was no guile in Nathaniel's spirit, and he knew that he was an Israelite, not through DNA, but according to the promise. He knew that because he is God. Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:), 2nd Chronicles 6:30.
There could be no doubt that Jesus Christ could read the hearts of men. But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?, Luke 5:22. The proof text for the deity of Jesus Christ could stand on this verse alone. Only God can read hearts and Jesus Christ could read hearts.
It wasn't Nathaniel's outward garb that showed him to be of the true Israel. It wasn't a bumper sticker or clever ornament proclaiming his love for the things of God. It was his inward processes showing the work of God that tipped off Jesus Christ; for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart, 1st Samuel 16:7.
That brings us to Hebrews 4:12, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. True scripture can do exactly what God can do, it can discern the heart. Herein is the great proof of the King James Bible. There is simply no attribute of scripture identified in the bible to which the King James Bible does not conform. The other versions cannot do that. If you don't believe that, just read their prefaces. They are quick to admit flaws. Their center columns are filled with doubts of their translators.
I remember my years with the other versions. I remember bible studies in which some wimpy guy would read a verse and make a comment and some girl would say, "that is so true". I'm not saying that we didn't learn things about ourselves, I'm merely pointing out that those revelations were no more powerful nor insightful than a good Victorian poet could have written or a self-help book.
What the King James Bible did for me was to reach into the deepest recesses of my heart and mind and expose them to me as God saw them. I squirmed and I sorrowed as never before. Yet, in the revelations to me of my inward sin and folly was imparted to me hope through that same scripture. There simply is no other English Bible with that same power and effectiveness.
No other proof is needed. I rejoice in the many men and women who have contributed mightily to the research available today to support our intellects in understanding what our hearts are telling us. The King James Bible is the scripture promised to us in the scriptures. No amount of proofs in history or translation ever seem to convince the gainsayers. A person must subject themselves to the King James Bible to ever be convinced by it.
Most of those who oppose us are men and women who have no intention of ever submitting themselves to anything other than their own concept of Jesus. They have a concept of Jesus Christ that is anywhere from 50% to 99.99% accurate and pure. Those of us who trust solely in our King James Bible have what they can never have. We have a perfect concept and revelation of a perfect Christ. In turn, that same perfect Christ gives us a perfect understanding of ourselves and a perfect salvation to deliver us from that horrible revelation.

How Readable is a King James Bible?

Dr. John M. Asquith 9/7/23 - 3 min read

Conversation
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it, Galatians 1:13.

The word "conversation" is a word which appears frequently in lists of words regarded as misleading or obsolete in our King James Bible. Everyone from David Cloud, Silly Mark Ward, and to Satan himself advocate for its replacement. Their reasoning is that to a 21st century person, "conversation" has the restricted meaning of talking back and forth. Silly Mark Ward and his even sillier acolytes would label it as a "false friend", a word which misleads the reader.
What is ironic about that reasoning is that each of three named critics of that word advocate educating people. David Cloud has authored more than 200 books in an attempt to uplift and instruct the church. Those books are scattered with gems of wisdom but their overall effect appears to be that they have sucked out whatever life and joy was left in his associated churches until they have become stiff formalistic relics of a once flourishing Fundamentalism.
Silly Mark Ward shills for an online company once called Logos Software but is now known as Faithlife. It is to their economic self interest that people ditch their King James Bibles and begin to search for deeper meanings. Satan has an almost universal lock on the educational systems of the world which at one time had been his bane. Every single attack on a King James Bible is a victory for Satan, sin and hell.
Each of these individuals think that it is easier and more profitable to publish new bibles or reformed King James Bibles and to educate people as to why they should switch to those bibles, than it would be to take a few moments and teach the people something that even their scarcely educated forefathers were able to comprehend quite well.
When the Apostle Paul mentioned his conversation in the Jews religion, it becomes obvious that this was not a chit chat or formal discussion. In actuality it was a way of life. It was a lifestyle and philosophy in which he was fully immersed. The Oxford English Dictionary defines it this way:

Conversation: 1. The action of living or having one's being in a place or among persons. Also figurative of one's spiritual being. Obsolete.
2. The action of consorting or having dealings with others; living together; commerce, intercourse, society, intimacy. Obsolete.

Before you hyperventilate over the word "obsolete", keep in mind what else is obsolete in the 21st century.

1: Strictures against sodomy
2: A merit based system
3: Virginity until marriage
4: A King James Bible
5: Personal holiness

You might ask, "why then do we still hold to these things in our churches?". We hold to them because despite the slide of our society into decadence, we educate our people biblically. If time was spent explaining what certain words meant, and if preachers would learn to instruct their people rather than to criticize the bible, our churches would have the same access to biblical truth that motivated our forefathers.
Take a few moments. Teach a child what "conversation means in a King James Bible. Then show them Ephesians 2:3; Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. That child will have no problem realizing that conversation means lifestyle.
I was recently sent a link to an online prognosticator trying to imitate a bible teacher. He quoted Philippians 3:20 in which the Apostle Paul said, Our conversation is in heaven. He made the claim that God speaks to us through the stars. He used the verse to say that configurations of stars, planets and asteroids were messages from God if we would only look up and see them. I'm not sure how we were supposed to answer back using the stars since the modern definition of conversation includes dialog on both sides.
For those of us who still hold to a King James Bible and who have a modicum of education, let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, Philippians 1:27.

Who Wrote the Book of Job?
Dr. John M. Asquith 2 min read 8/29/23

Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! Job 19:23.

To understand who wrote the Book of Job we need to examine 28 words that stand out from the others.

Job 32:15 They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.
Job 32:16 When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)
Job 32:17 I said,

Who spoke those words? and to whom were they spoken? No one spoke those words. They are not part of the recorded dialog. They are a message interjected into the dialog to tell you the reader how Job and his three friends reacted to Elihu's speech. Take a look at the dialog with those words removed:

Job 32:6 I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.
Job 32:7 I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.
Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
Job 32:9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.
Job 32:10 Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.
Job 32:11 Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.
Job 32:12 Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:
Job 32:13 Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
Job 32:14 Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
Job 32:17 I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.
Job 32:18 For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.
Job 32:19 Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.

Notice that when we cut out verses 15, 16, and a portion of 17, the passage read perfectly. The 28 words that were cut out are not part of his speech to the other men. Elihu paused in his writing to tell you how the men reacted to him.
It is important when studying scripture to distinguish between a passage that is a narrative of events and a passage that is recorded speech. In Job 32:1-19 we have both types of scripture. Verse 15, 16, and the portion of 17 are narrative. They are telling you what was happening. All the rest of the verses are a record of the exact words that Elihu spoke.
Unless Job's three friends and Job himself were to read the book later, they would have never heard those 28 words. Those words are directed at you the reader. When you understand that, there remains no more doubt as to who was the author of the Book of Job.

Wisdom From A Young Preacher
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good, I Thessalonians 5:21.

The following essay was sent to me by Cory Jackson, the Youth Pastor at the Lakewood Baptist church of Powderly, Texas sent me this study.
"Lothe" and "Loathe"

Not long ago, I was reading in Ezekiel chapter 6, and I noticed an unusual word. Ezekiel 6:9, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
The word “lothe” is what caught my attention. Or, to be more precise, the spelling of it is what caused me to pause and consider it. Every other source in which I had read this word, spelled it “loathe”. But the King James Bible spells it “lothe”. Sure, it’s only a one-letter difference, but knowing that the KJB is perfect, I began to wonder why it was spelled this way.
With a quick search, I excitedly learned that the word “loathe” is also in the Bible! Aha! Another treasure to explore in the unsearchable riches of Christ.
Neither one of these words is used often in the Bible. The word “lothe” appears 4 times. “Lothed” is used 3 times, and “lotheth” is only in the Bible once. Below are the verses where this word or one of its forms appears:
Exodus 7:18 And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.
Jeremiah 14:19 Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion?
Ezekiel 6:9, and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they
have committed in all their abominations.

Ezekiel 20:43, and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed.
Ezekiel 36:31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
Ezekiel 16:45, Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children.
Zechariah 11:8, Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.

On the other hand, the word “loathe” appears just one time in the Bible. “Loatheth” is used twice, and “loathsome” is used 4 times. Here are the verses where this word and its various forms appears:

Job 7:16 I loathe it; I would not live alway: let me alone; for my days are vanity.

Numbers 21:5, our soul loatheth this light bread.

Proverbs 27:7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

Numbers 11:20 But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you.

Job 7:5 My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and become loathsome.

Psalm 38:7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease.

Proverbs 13:5 A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

After searching the Oxford English Dictionary, I could not find a significant difference between the meaning of these two words. “Lothe” or “loathe” means: “to have an intense aversion or dislike for; to be or become disgusted, to feel disgust”.
So what is the difference between “lothe” and “loathe”? Upon close examination the word “lothe” seems to always be used in connection with God or people performing the action of lothing other people.

The human connection with the word “lothe” is obvious to see. It’s always God or a person lothing others. At times the object of lothing might even be that same person looking in the mirror and lothing themself. So “lothe” is always used as a connection between God and people, or people and other people.
The word “loathe” however, is used differently. It seems to be used in any case that is not dealing with a person performing this action on another person. For example:
Job says in Job 7:16 I loathe it; I would not live alway: let me alone; for my days are vanity. He is speaking of his life. He “loathes” his life. That is not one person “lothing” another person. That is a person “loathing” his life.
In Numbers 21:5 the congregation of Israel said …. our soul loatheth this light bread. “Loatheth” is used in connection with food here – not between people.
How about Proverbs 27:7? The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet. Again, food is the object of loathing – people are not.
Let’s look at Numbers 11:20. But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you…. This is speaking about the quail that God would bring to the camp of the Israelites. So once more, food/quails is the object of the loathing - not people.
Job 7:5 My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and become loathsome. In this account, Job is giving a description of his skin. It is loathsome. It is not lothsome.
Psalm 38:7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. The psalm writer is describing a disease in his loins as loathsome. The pattern we are seeing with the word “loathe” is that there is no human connection with it. People perform the action of “loathing” upon things, but they perform the action of “lothing” upon other people.
Let’s look at Proverbs 13:5. A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame. This one stumped me momentarily – until I realized that no one is performing the action of loathing the wicked man, it is simply a description of him. He is loathsome.
Now, let us look at one last verse. This verse concerns the first word we looked at – “lothe” – which Biblically is always used in connection between people. Exodus 7:18 And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river.
The use of the word “lothe” in this verse seemed out of place at first glance, considering what we know about the usage of this same word in other passages in Scripture. I must admit, I could not see a human connection here. If I had written this verse, I would have used the word “loathe”. Because it seems like the Egyptians are lothing the water, not other people! Oh no! Is this a mistake in the King James Bible?! Take a deep breath. If this Book is perfect (and it is), then there must be a reason “lothe” is used here instead of “loathe”.
At this point in my study, I called my good friend, Bro. Kevin Sheridan who is pastoring in Antlers, Oklahoma. After explaining everything to him, we were both asking ourselves “Where is the human connection here in Exodus 7:18?” Bro. Sheridan found the answer. Exodus 7 is written in the middle of the 10 plagues of Egypt. Let’s ask the question - What was the river in Egypt turned into during this particular plague? Blood. Tell me, what kind of blood do you think it was? Animal or human? Based on how the word “lothe” is used throughout scripture, we must conclude that it was human blood! There is the human element with this word “lothe” as it is used in this verse in Exodus 7:18! And remember – the life of the flesh is in the blood.
The blood in the Egyptian river could not be the blood of Jesus because the blood was being used as a plague or a curse. Jesus’ blood is certainly not cursed. Ironically enough, this would be the same river in which the Egyptians had forced the Hebrews to cast their baby boys!
Is it possible that the blood of that plague was the blood of those innocent babies that the Egyptians had shed, and now they are “lothing” it? Is it possible that God was now using this shed blood as a judgment upon them? (There is certainly a parallel with abortion here.) In conclusion, let us consider for a moment how this study began in the first place. It began because of a one-letter difference between two similar words. Pay attention to your Bible. The marvels of its perfection might be staring you right in the face.

Paul Scott 6:52 AM (12 hours ago) to Roger Fulk

My brother, we are soooooo excited to begin a Youtube channel! The world watches youtube!

I sent a link to the first episode of “Types of Christ.” Additionally, episodes 3, 4, which are soon to be posted, deal with KJV vocabulary (shadows, figures, simile, allegory and so on) -
It’s all good - Jesus is honored!

My request, if you feel its appropriate, is to show this channel and especially
ask that the viewer ‘subscribe’ (they tell me it’s important!).

Thanks for considering this, (it’s ok if you say no…but I ask !)

Thay Paul
